Description
The coolant thermostat regulates radiator flow as an N13 engine warms up. A valve that opens too soon can keep temperatures low while one that stays closed can restrict heat removal. Replacng a faulty assembly restores that temperature-control function. This replacement is intended for the N13 engine application specified for the product.
Suitable for BMW vehicles with N13 engines.
Cooling parts work together rather than independently. A sealed circuit with correct fluid level gives the pump and radiator the conditions they need to operate properly. A small leak can become easier to see when the system is warm and pressurised. Dried coolant deposits often help locate the affected joint.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- Coolant escaping around the thermostat housing.
- Slow warm-up or temperatures that stay unusually low.
- Engine temperature rising because coolant flow is restricted.
Inspect the housing and coolant connections during replacement. A temperature check after bleeding helps confirm that warm-up and cooling have returned to normal.
