Description
Small knocks from the front of an F30 or F20 may come from a stabilizer link rather than the shock absorber. The link’s joints move constantly with the suspension and can develop play. This replacement reconnects the anti-roll bar to the wheel suspension to help it control side-to-side body movement.
Suitable for BMW F30 and F20 models.
Link joints should articulate without excessive free play. Noise can come from the bar bushes as well so both connections deserve attention during a suspension check. A drop link controls a connection rather than supporting ride height. Sagging suspension or continued bouncing calls for separate inspection of the springs and dampers.
Signs that this component may need attention include:
- More body movement when the vehicle changes direction.
- A light knocking sound over small bumps.
- Loose joints or torn protective boots.
