Description
A rear corner that drops while an E53 X5 is parked can point to a leaking air spring. This replacement is for the rear right position. A sound bellow retains pressure and supports the body as loads change. Air loss should be located before the compressor is blamed for low suspension.
Suitable for BMW E53 models.
The surrounding mechanism should move freely through its normal range. A damaged support or binding connection can prevent the replacement from operating as intended. Related mounting points should be inspected before a replacement is fitted. Damage at the attachment can leave movement or noise, even with a new component.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- Air escaping from cracked or worn bellows.
- One rear corner sitting lower after the vehicle is parked.
- The suspension compressor running more frequently.
Inspect the right-hand air connection and the opposite spring. A leak test helps find worn lines or fittings elsewhere in the circuit.
