Description
This rear shock absorber is suitable for selected BMW 3 Series F30, 1 Series F20, 1 Series F21 and 2 Series F22 models. It can be used on either rear side as specified. The damper controls spring rebound so the body settles after an impact. Wear may be felt as a bouncy rear end before obvious leakage develops.
Uneven damping across an axle can affect how the vehicle settles after a bump. Compare both sides and consider replacing the pair when wear is similar.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- Oil leakage or damage around the damper body.
- Uneven tyre wear or an unsettled ride through bends.
- Continued bouncing after a dip or speed bump.
Inspect both rear dampers and their upper supports. Check bump stops and protective boots before reusing them with the new shock.
