Description
The suspension pump supplies compressed air to the rear bellows. This compressor listing is compatible with seected E70 X5 and E71 X6 models. A weak unit may take longer to raise the body but constant running can also mean air is escaping elsewhere. Replacing the pump works best after that underlying load is checked.
Suitable for BMW E70 and E71 models.
Related mounting points should be inspected before a replacement is fitted. Damage at the attachment can leave movement or noise, even with a new component. The surrounding mechanism should move freely through its normal range. A damaged support or binding connection can prevent the replacement from operating as intended.
Possible signs of wear or failure include:
- A suspension warning accompanied by low ride height.
- The rear suspension taking too long to rise.
- A compressor that runs constantly or becomes noisy.
Inspect the air springs and lines for leakage. Check the relay and power supply before fitting a replacement compressor.
