Description
The Xenon ballast supplies the electrical conditions needed for the lamp to operate. This Xenon headlight ballast is suitable for selected BMW 3 Series E90, 1 Series F20, 5 Series F10 and Z4 E89 models. Flickering or one lamp staying dark can be linked to the ballast but the bulb and power supply also need testing. Replacement addresses the module when it is confirmed faulty.
Lighting repairs should address the enclosure as well as the electrical part. A sound seal helps protect connectors and modules from repeated water exposure.
Possible signs of wear or failure include:
- Lighting faults linked to the ballast or power supply.
- A Xenon headlight that flickers or switches off.
- One headlight staying dark with a working bulb.
Inspect the headlight for moisture and damaged wiring. Correct water entry before replacing the ballast and follow safe Xenon system servicing procedures.
