Description
This front propshaft is suitable for selected BMW X5 and X6 models equipped with the smaller propeller shaft configuration. It connects the transfer case to the front differential and delivers power to the front wheels through the xDrive system.
Compatible model ranges include:
- BMW X5 E70
- BMW X5 F15
- BMW X6 E71
- BMW X6 F16
Signs of a worn propeller shaft can include vibration during acceleration, knocking beneath the vehicle, clicking from the joints or noticeable play in the drivetrain. The noise may become more pronounced when pulling away, changing speed or driving under load.
Different propshaft sizes and flange configurations can be used within these model ranges. Before installing a propshaft, compare its length, mounting points and OE number with the original unit. The transfer case flange, front differential connection and surrounding drivetrain components should also be inspected to identify any additional wear that could affect the replacement unit.
