Description
This front right lower control arm is suitable for selected BMW X5 E70 and X6 E71 models. The arm allows the suspension to move while resisting unwanted wheel displacement. Ageing rubber and joint wear can let loads shift abruptly which may create a clunk or an unsettled feel under braking.
Rubber bushes should be tightened according to the vehicle procedure. Incorrect loading at installation can strain the rubber and shorten the life of the repaired connection. Wheel location depends on several links working together. Checking the neighbouring joints helps avoid leaving a second worn component to affect the repaired suspension.
Common reasons to inspect your control arms include:
- Wandering steering or uneven tyre wear.
- Cracked bushes or movement in a suspension joint.
- Clunking as the wheel crosses bumps.
Inspect the upper arm and wheel-side joints. Tighten relevant bushes according to the vehicle procedure and check alignment afterwards.
