Description
This B48 water pump is compatible with selected BMW 1 Series F20, 3 Series F30 and G20, 4 Series Gran Coupé F36, X3 G01, 7 Series G11 and 5 Series G30 vehicles. Also known as a coolant pump, it keeps coolant moving through the engine and cooling system so that excess heat can be transferred effectively.
A failing coolant pump may cause rising engine temperatures, an overheating warning, reduced coolant circulation or leakage around the pump. Cooling performance may also become inconsistent when the engine is under load.
Before replacement, the thermostat, hoses, electrical connections and surrounding cooling-system components should be inspected. The correct coolant must be used, and the system should be bled properly after installation to remove trapped air.
