Description
This headlight control unit is listed as a Xenon ballast for E46, E83, E63 and E64 models. This Xenon headlight ballast is suitable for selected BMW 3 Series E46, X3 E83, 6 Series E63 and 6 Series E64 models. It manages the supply required by the discharge lamp. A failing unit can switch off intermittently or fail to start the bulb. Testing the lamp and electrical supply helps identify which component needs replacement.
Moisture and damaged contacts can cause recurring lighting faults. Inspect the lamp enclosure and wiring so the replacement is not exposed to an unresolved connection problem.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- A Xenon headlight that flickers or switches off.
- One headlight staying dark with a working bulb.
- Lighting faults linked to the ballast or power supply.
Inspect the housing seals and connector pins. Remove the cause of moisture ingress so the replacement module is not exposed to the same problem.
