Description
This short crankcase breather hose is suitable for selected BMW 3 Series F30 and 1 Series F20 models with N13 engines, including 118i, 120i and 316i. It connects part of the cylinder head ventilation route. Plastic fittings can become brittle and let air leak around the joint. Replacing a cracked short pipe restores the seal along that section.
The ventilation system relies on several sealed connections. A second cracked hose can leave symptoms unchanged after one component has been replaced.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- Whistling or an uneven idle from an air leak.
- Damaged connectors or restricted ventilation.
- Cracks or oil residue around the vent hose.
Inspect the longer companion hose and connector seals. Avoid forcing aged fittings when the engine ventilation pipes are removed.
