Description
BMW’s N46 engine uses variable valve lift technology to alter how the intake valves operate. This system helps the engine balance power delivery, throttle response and fuel consumption across different operating conditions.
The VVT motor is responsible for mechanically adjusting the variable valve lift mechanism. If the motor becomes worn or develops an electrical or mechanical fault, the system may no longer respond correctly to the engine’s demands.
