Description
This front right lower control arm is suitable for selected BMW 3 Series E90, 1 Series E87 and X1 E84 models. Its bushes and joints let the wheel move vertically while limiting unwanted movement in other directions. Wear can change how the car tracks over bumps and allow a knock when braking loads shift through the arm.
Replace loose components first so the wheels can hold their intended position during driving. Rubber bushes should be tightened according to the vehicle procedure. Incorrect loading at installation can strain the rubber and shorten the life of the repaired connection.
Signs that this component may need attention include:
- Cracked bushes or movement in a suspension joint.
- Clunking as the wheel crosses bumps.
- Wandering steering or uneven tyre wear.
Inspect the upper arm and steering linkage. Replace worn companion parts before setting the alignment so the adjustment has a stable base.
