Description
This electric auxiliary coolant pump supports coolant circulation when the engine’s main mechanical pump cannot provide sufficient flow. Depending on the vehicle’s cooling configuration, it may assist with temperature management for the engine, turbocharger and passenger heating system.
It is suitable for selected Mercedes C-Class W205, S-Class W222, E-Class W213, M-Class and GLE W166, GLC X253, GLA X156 and A-Class W176 vehicles fitted with M270, M274, M276 or M264 petrol engines, as well as OM651, OM642 and OM654 diesel engines.
A failing auxiliary water pump may cause inconsistent cabin heating, cooling-system warning messages, stored circulation faults or increased operating temperatures after the engine is switched off. Electrical faults, damaged wiring and restricted coolant flow can produce similar symptoms, so diagnostic testing is recommended before replacement.
The cooling system should be inspected for leaks and refilled with the correct coolant after installation. Proper bleeding is essential because trapped air can prevent the new coolant pump from circulating fluid effectively.
